Paver Patios on a Proper Base
Paver patios and walkways built on a mechanically compacted gravel base, sloped so rain runs off instead of pooling against the house.

Hillsboro is right next door to our Beaverton home base, so we're in town constantly. A lot of Hillsboro homes are newer builds with a bare-bones backyard, and that's where we come in: patios, drainage, irrigation and planting that turn a builder-grade yard into one you actually use.

The Hillsboro Standard
We build patios, drainage systems, irrigation and full outdoor living spaces for Hillsboro homeowners, from Orenco Station and Tanasbourne to AmberGlen, South Hillsboro and the established neighborhoods closer to downtown. Many of these yards were graded fast during construction, with a thin layer of topsoil over compacted fill.
That's why we start below the surface. We check the grade, the soil and where water sits after a storm before we design anything. A patio poured over a low spot, or sod laid on hardpan, looks fine for a season and then starts to fail. Fixing the base first is what makes the rest of the yard last.

5reasons
Most companies talk about design first. We talk about compaction first, because that's the part that decides whether a patio holds up for twenty years or sinks in two.
New-construction yards often drain toward the house or hold water in low spots. We correct the grade before anything new goes in, so your investment isn't sitting in a puddle.
Sod and plants laid on compacted subsoil struggle for years. We amend and prep the ground first so roots can actually take hold.
We're licensed for backflow testing and hold our own permits in Oregon (LCB #9957) and Washington (GCC #OLGUICL807RZ).
The team that designs your project is the team that builds it, from the base and drainage to the irrigation and lighting. Not a sub we handed it off to.

Design · Construct · Maintain
In Hillsboro, most of our work is finishing newer yards: paver patios, drainage corrections, irrigation systems, sod and planting, plus covered outdoor spaces. Design, construct, maintain: that's the whole relationship, not just the install.

Very. We're headquartered in neighboring Beaverton, so Hillsboro is part of our regular route. We also serve Portland, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, Lake Oswego and SW Washington.
Yes. We're licensed for backflow testing in-house and hold our own permits in both Oregon and Washington, so nothing gets subbed out or delayed waiting on someone else's schedule.
It's common, but it isn't something to live with. Newer lots are often graded quickly over compacted fill, so water has nowhere to go. We look at the grade and soil, then fix it with regrading, drains or both before building anything on top.
Sometimes. Drainage that ties into storm lines falls under Clean Water Services rules, and taller retaining walls generally need a City of Hillsboro permit. We pull our own permits and check what your property needs during the estimate.
It depends on scope. A patio is a different timeline than a full retaining wall and drainage overhaul. We'll walk you through a realistic timeline during your design consultation.
Yes, we offer a 3D design consultation so you can see the layout before construction starts.
If your project touches drainage or storm lines, Clean Water Services is a good starting reference for Washington County, and we're a good next call.
